It’s unclear if Miss Stanhope is intoxicated or has some type of physical condition that causes her to act this way. Miss Stanhope nearly falls into the swimming pool, and she’s rescued by some observant people nearby who catch her in time to prevent this accident. Miss Stanhope has an outgoing disposition, but sometimes wobbles and appears disoriented when she walks. The open house is fairly crowded, and shy Sarah feels a little overwhelmed at these new surroundings and by not knowing anyone in the building.Īnother person she meets is a senior citizen named Edith “Edie” Stanhope (played by Susan Davis), an apartment resident who’s called Miss Stanhope by the other tenant. By the way that Brian and Sarah look at each other, it’s clear that there’s some mutual attraction between them. His name is Brian (played by Giles Mathey), who lets her in through the security-system entrance door. The first person whom Sarah (played by Nicole Brydon Bloom) sees when she arrives is a friendly man who’s around her age. It’s a motel-styled, two-story apartment building with a swimming pool in the center. A one-bedroom apartment for rent is why aspiring costume designer Sarah, a woman in her early-to-mid-20s who’s recently moved to Los Angeles, attends an open house at Asilo Del Mar Apartments, which looks like a typical middle-class apartment complex. Arnold also is killed, and his heart is transplanted to save a policeman the brother has shot. Meanwhile, his brother goes on a killing rampage and, in the bizarre turn of events that follow, Dr. ![]() Arnold has achieved his dream, but because of the young girl's death, can't tell anyone about his triumph. Threatened by a cutoff of funds, his benefactor gets a new heart. However, when this ne're do well brother accidentally kills a young woman, the doctor takes matters into his own hands. James Arnold tried to get approval to perform a heart transplant for his elderly benefactor, the medical society turns him down. ![]() (Night of the Bloody Transplant) Heart transplants are routine these days. As time passes, further events increase the tension in the air, brutal murders with no apparent motive. At night Marianne is disturbed by strange organ music and ghostly footsteps in the corridor. Michael's autocratic mother is not at all receptive to the visitor. From the outset of her visit, things go strangely wrong for Marianne. Lady Marianne arrives from London to join her beloved fiancι, Sir Michael Brechenridge at his stately ancestral home, Brattling Manor. The setting is a remote corner of the South African Veldt at the turn of the century. And you think you have problems with your neighbors. The aristocratic, turn-of-the-century family has a deadly secret. (The House of the Living Dead) Evil lives and feeds in the attic of Brattling Manor. Surely you’ll become acclimated to the situation or some natural phenomenon will fix everything. You become unable to see any way to break free. You fantasize about what you would do to escape her situation but the obstacles she faces are so daunting. As an outsider, there's nothing she can do about it. Someone in the community she’s joined doesn’t want her there. Unfortunately, quitting isn't an option for obvious reasons and because it would take her away from her only friend outside the apartment complex, Lisa (Celeste Sully). At her new job, Sarah's boss looks down upon her and takes advantage of her inability to stand up for herself. Sarah came to LA to escape her father (Alan Blumenfeld), whom she resents. Ultimately, writer/director David Marmor's story is about being trapped and powerless. ![]() The turns 1BR takes come early but the less you know, the better. ![]()
